I don’t know if you know, but if you beat the boss on the highway and then kill yourself on the road, you’ll end up with invincibility.

  2. FNugget says:

And holding the direction against the wall allows you to wall jump, but holding against the wall AND up doesn’t. I have no idea why I’m accustomed to holding up while jumping, but I see no reason why it ought to cancel wall jumping ability.

Hi, I tried to Debug build of the game and it works perfectly for me.
Hope you finish the game soon! :)

  4. Artemiy says:

Debug version crashes on me just a few seconds after entering a level (can’t figure out why, but it’s usually while attacking something), but man, this looks and feels absolutely amazing.

Just for reference, tried on Vaio F13, Win7, XNA4.

  5. Tyler says:

So sorry Artemiy!! This is a strange problem that many users seem to have-right when they attack, the game crashes. I’m working really hard to fix everything so hopefully the final version will be very inclusive. All I can recommend is getting the absolute newest versions of XNA and the .NET framework and I’ll keep testing on my end. Thanks a ton for your support!

I just bought the game believing it was a final version. Am I mistaken? It’s still in debug? Because the download give me a “Debug.zip” and as I try to complete the tutorial the game is systematically crashing after a little time (Each time at a different part of the tutorial)

I had time to look into my bug (crashing very quickly no matter what mode i’m playing). Luckily I have visual studio installed on my computer so i was able to launch the debug just in time option and here is the error I get :

“The character ‘ ‘ (0x00a0) is not available in this SpriteFont. If applicable, adjust the font’s start and end CharacterRegions to include this character.
    Parameter name: character”

I’m french, so I was indeed playing with French localisation settings. It’s seems that your font doesn’t support extended character. To test this just change all your region and language settings to French (France) and see for yourself. I suppose this error can happen in any language with different character sets than english one.

In the mean time there is an easy fix for us non english user. Just change all our region and language settings to English. It work like a charm for me and i can play this game at last.

I hope this help other people with the same issue.

I would had that I’m a little disapointed with the support. It has been 4 days since I post my request and nobody contacted me, at least to ask me some details. As a fellow developer I understand that it can be difficult to find the time to answer everybody (free community support can be very time consuming), but the game has just been released, I let an question on the game page on which there is only twenty commentaries. And an other post second mine with the same issue. I think we deserve at least an aknowledgement that we have been heard.

  22. KotL says:

Thanks a lot Severin for your comment, I can now make the game work, and it’s super fun !

The only issue I have to solve now is my 1920 x 1200 resolution that doesn’t seem to be supported by stretched fullscreen mode.

Splendid game other than that !

    Hey, Severin!
Sorry about the late response. I’m not used to people posting on the website.

You can replace Aces Wild.exe with http://www.tylerdoak.com/aceswild/aces%20wild.exe
and it will fix the language settings.

    To everyone else!
Sorry I labeled the release build as Debug.zip. When the next version is available, you can update it where you downloaded the original file. You can also get smaller updates by replacing Aces Wild.exe with the file I linked above for Severin.

Again, please contact me at the above listed methods for very quick responses.
Thank you so much for playing Aces Wild!
    Take Care!

  24. Severin says:

Thanks for the update this works like a charm for me.
My bad for asking for support on that page I took the first way I found to contact you.

Now that I had time to play the first levels of the game I must say it is a very refreshing game. It’s lot of fun and very dynamic. Once you become accustomed to the controls the difficulty is really welcome. It’s just challenging enough to really feel the pleasure of battle without being daunting. So thank you for making this game!

Thanks, Severin! Glad we got it working finally!
