I love Aces Wild, man. Great game! But, I have a couple of questions.

    1. Are you planning on releasing it on Xbox Indie Games?

    2. Are you able to use a controller in the PC demo at all?

    3. Are you planning on adding a 2 to up to 4 player co-op mode or such? Cause that would be amazing!

  2. Tyler says:

    1. Yes
    2. Yes
    3. Yes

I use an xbox controller at the moment but want to implement directx if I can, but i’m not in a huge hurry because XBOX live indie games is my first target.
But yeah, just plug in an xbox controller and go wild!
Coop is already in there, just don’t have any good shots of it yet.
Thanks so much for your support! Tell your friends!

  3. Bill says:

Will do! Thanks for replying back, man. I can’t imagine how crazy and fun co-op is.
It’s good for you, that you’re not in a big hurry, because that will make a quality product.
I’ll be purchasing this on Xbox Indie games and can’t wait for the final product.

I was wondering if your gonna release this on PC through steam or something because I’ve been following this game for a while n i would love to play the full game when it comes out on PC since i don’t have a X box or on the PSN.

  5. Tyler says:

    @dominique
My biggest goal is to make sure everyone who wants to play it, can.
While I plan on doing the xbox indie game route initially. I also plan on having a pc release concurrently or after the xbox release. It’s also possible that there will only be a pc release. Anything could happen, really.

    Hi there!

I’m pretty excited about this game. Can’t wait for more.

    But I have some questions…

I noticed at indiepubs you had another version of the game there called simply aces wild. I like the controls better in advance. I use a PC with a logitech gamepad btw. However, after searching around the net and youtube and trying out various demo versions you seem to have quite a few different level schemes. Are those gonna to be a part of the final release. I liked the bridge layout and the forest layout. Yeah there a little less on the platforming side but add a different sense of art and feel to the game that would make it seem like a larger more diverse world. Also, I noticed that one of the demos allowed you to change characters. I wasn’t sure if advance has the ability to select characters or not. I was only able to change between between the infinite lobby and arcade. On the front page. Just curious about what was include in advance to make sure I’m not missing something and also wondering what direction your heading in.

All that said keep on trucking. The game is very cool. And can’t wait to see more of it.

    Hey, man! Glad you’re interested!
Well… my original designs had more natural environments, but all the parallax was way way too time consuming for designing. So I switched over to a flatter 2d look. It’s a bit more boring in some ways, but each asset looks better because I don’t need as many, it’s way faster and easier to design levels, and they’re much more fun for platforming.

Right now, the main game will mainly have city environments, but hope to have some natural ones sprinkled in there. Overall the levels are way way more fun to run around and battle in.

As for multiple characters, I had really hoped on having nearly all the bosses and some enemies playable as well, but it may not make it in. The newest demo with just arcade and endless lobby doesn’t have a character select (though different buttons will give you different colors for Ace).

  8. b says:

you need three boss fights and final boss fight for each level. two sub bosses and the final one

  9. Tyler says:

    Three per level!?!!?
I may not be able to make assets to accommodate that many full on unique bosses. But there will be a major enemy at the end of each level and the rest is jam packed with unique and exciting battles and enemies!

  11. Bill says:

Yo, Tyler! I know you’re busy… but I couldn’t help, but ask… I didn’t see Co-op in the game yet. I understand you have a tight deadline, if you want to make it for Dream Build Play 2011, but please…. PLEASE have Co-op in this game! It will just make it that much more badass!

  12. Tyler says:

I’m workin’ on it, Bill! Don’t you worry your little head.
It’s been difficult to balance it though. One of the main things has been going back and forth between split screen and shared screen (local coop is my first priority). I had split screen for a long time, but it was just… not as fun with tiny screens. So now i’m working on shared screen but designing the camera to work with this is difficult. I also have to accommodate the levels for the new camera which is a lot of work too.
But I’m working hard on getting it it!

Thanks for the support and expect a demo for Dream Build Play!

  14. Bill says:

NIce to see that you finally implemented co-op gameplay… I honestly can’t wait now. I downloaded a few builds, but haven’t got a chance to play any of them. I hope to see the co-op build here soon and keep up the good work!!!

  15. Bill says:

Is Co-op in the December 14th build and if not is there a build released that has co-op in it already?

  16. Tyler says:

Nah, it’s not in that build, sorry. There will be a nearly full version available in time for the IndieCade and Dream Build Play submissions this year. At least 3 playable characters and co-op! Hopefully even netplay co-op!

  17. Jordan says:

hey, what software do you use to develop?

  18. SonnyTengai says:

Running Windows 8.1, the game just immediately crashes. Unplayable.

  19. chem says:

    no mod support right?

    regards

  20. Jeff says:
